Sound/Insulation panel re trunk lid?

Default Sound/Insulation panel re trunk lid?
I saw a2007 Civic EX and it had a black sound panel installed inside the trunk. Ihave a 2008 EX and it does NOT have this. I was wondering if this is something that Honda removed for the 2008 model, or is it something that is missing on my car, or is thisan option?
