Default white/blue smoke

I just bought a 89 civic hatch and knew it had some problems but not sure what the problems are. it blows white/blue smoke but isn't overheating. it has a new head and gaskets. no oil leak just burning oil. thinking about replacing valve stem seals then possibly oil cooler o-ring and seeing if that stops the smoking. any ideas or suggestions would be great!
