2011 Pilot CAN bus issues - need advice
Ok, got the "new" (ebay used) MICU and a new driver door switch control module (Amazon). Replaced the MICU and of course the car is immobilized and needs to be reprogrammed to the new box. But, the gauges work and I now have an outside temp reading on the gauge cluster and the doors seem to work. But I cannot start the car to check it all out. It cranked and ran until it depleted whatever fuel was in the lines. Blinking green key on cluster - immobilized.
So, does anyone know how I can get this thing reprogrammed? I have seen several videos on how it is done using the correct software but I do not have such software and do not want to spend $1,000 or more for the gear needed. Happy to pay someone to do this, or if there is a cheaper tool that will do it, I'll buy it, but I suspect this capability is only found in the higher end more expensive gear.
One independent shop I spoke with early on in this saga apparently hires someone to come in for this sort of stuff, so I could try to get him to connect me. I'd even cut him in on the deal. But I am looking to this community to find out if anyone has run into this before on the gauges or the MICU? If so, what did you do?
For example, can a locksmith do this? That would be great as it might be covered under insurance, but more importantly, they do house calls. But I fantasize...
Thank you.

So, I received and installed the replacement MICU box and got the temp reading back on the gauges. However, the car is immobilized (crank, no start, green key blinking on dash). So I am currently trying to find a way to get the replacement MICU reprogrammed to my vehicle. The current best option is the Honda dealer who will charge me $180 to do it. But I will have to put the old box in (15 connectors) drive to the Honda dealer and park where they can access their wifi, disconnect the battery, swap the boxes, and then let them do the 5 min reprogramming. PITA, but still a great deal compared to a new box plus diagnostics and programming (assuming they would have diagnosed it correctly in the first place). That would have been $1,500 easy.
The total bill so far for me is new temp sensor rockauto ($20), used MICU box replacement eBay ($92), new driver door module amazon ($30). Add the reprogramming fee and we'll be about $330 including taxes.
Need to get this finished as the wall clock time has been a 2-3 weeks. Frustrating that the internet has really slowed things down and reduced access to items that would have been sourced locally years ago.

Thanks, The guy who had not called me back, called me back. He will do it at my home tomorrow morning, so that problem is sorted and I do not have to remove the unit and reinstall it again. Glad to avoid that.
