Default 2018 Civic Sport Touring - 7 year warranty?

The dealer is insisting that I should purchase a 7 year, 100k extended warranty, as it specifically relates to the entire car and all electrical systems. I know typical recommendation is to decline all warranties, but with the 2018 having all the electrical components and active safety related technology, is it in my best interest to purchase this warranty now?

Thanks for looking!

welcome to the forum. if i don't know much about cars, do not plan to mod the engine, keep the car for at least 5 years or more, use the car as my primary transportation for work, i will purchase a warranty, but make sure you know what is covered in the warranty. especially the engine trans body. other than ware out items, tires, brakes, wipers. most honda warranties cover most of it. oil and filter is another warranty, i have one for my wife's hrv for life of vehicle for oil and filter as long as we own it..( forever ) for tires go to a Americas tires or Discount tires, and get the rotation warranty for life of tire- 40-60k miles than you won't have to have honda rotate(25.00 for every other oil if you don't understand what i wrote ask again, sometimes i ramble on too much info. when you purcahse the car get the best price by shopping a couple of honda dealers, there is always someone who wants your business. go to the internet and get a internet price from the dealer, have your finances ready before you go shopping, cash, check, bank finance, if any dealer does a high pressure sales, walk out.

if you can work the internet, you can put in a request for a certain car you want and the dealers will send you their best price some good for 72 hrs. again have your monies ready to purchase. 3yr 36k warranty is normal for most dealers, kia, hyundai, have 10yr 100k mile warranty. they are good also. always remember, its your money to spend, buy what will make you happy for the life of the car. try every car you might want to first before you buy.
