Smile front passanger seatbelt won't extend

Hey ya'll-my 97 accord front passanger seatbelt comes out about 1 inch at a time when you pull it to put it on. Some times locks altogether and has to be slowly worked out-i'm sure something in there is sticking--any suggestions of how or what i can try to fix it. It's been this way for years but has gotten much worse! Thanks

Angry still trying to fix seatbelt!!

So I find out on a website, honda has a "great" limited warrenty on seatbelts==so i make an apointment for 8am get there and 1st question they ask is has your car ever been in a wreck? Of course-it's 15 years old!! so i say yes -service advisor says- the "seatbelt has been deployed" that's not covered under the warrenty---but said she will have them check them out anyway to be sure-so i'm sitting in the lovly waiting area with about 6 others waiting for honda repairs-she's back exactly 10 minutes later and says yep they are deployed-not only the passanger side but the drivers side as well - already had a written estimate-300.00 labor, and 334.66 for both parts!!!! I'm apauled!!!! Looks like anyone who has to ride with me, will get suck with a screwed up seatbelt!!!
Thanks-just mad at honda right now & venting!!!

welcome to the forum. You may be able to get a set out of a salvage yard in good condition at a lesser cost. Need someone that is mechanical to get them out and swap with your car. takes about 3-4 hrs to do.

yep-call me stupid but i had no idea when i was in an accident years ago that something could be wrong with the seatbelt?? no one was sitting in that seat and my car was hit in back panel, no air bags.. not a real bad wreck--everything was fine after body repair then few years later--passanger side belt won't pull out--my car looks good, runs good- but after 15 years i guess it's just wearing out!!
