what is the difference between the standard block and a longblock engine?

 

not sure of your terminology, long block is heads, lower lock to pan, crank pulley front to flywheel. ( flywheel not included on some long blocks.)Short block is lowerblock to pan only, Both blocks have insidesassembled.crank,cam,rods,pistons oil pump etc.
