Default Setup kicker motor to main tank from water fuel separator

I have 1999 Honda four stroke on my 1988 Chris Craft Scorpion which is a mid engine 350 mercruiser
the water fuel separator on the 350
has 2 outlets for fuel lines ... so I am running
20 feet of A1 coast guard approved fuel line
To the squeeze bulb on the Honda 1/4 inch fuel line. Is it better to use 1/4 inch for the 20 foot section
or run 3/8 fuel line then use a brass barn adaptor to
step down to the 1/4 fuel line
also should I add a small in line fuel filter near the kicker to hold a small amount of fuel to compensate for having a 20 foot fuel line ...
thanks john
Ps do mot use a t off the fuel line because if you get air to big engine it’s no bueno
