Default 2016 ncw50 has a ticking noise and won’t idle

I just bought a 2016 Honda metro (not running) for a couple hundred bucks and figured it would be an easy fix. Turns out it was easy to get it started. (Jumped it with a 12v battery) took a while of cranking to get it to finally run. All fuses were in good shape (checked with a multimeter) and the bike seemed to be in good over all physical condition but I did spot that is has 11k miles. So once I got it to turn over I was able to ride up and down my street but it has a tapping sound that gets louder the higher the rpms go. Also I can’t get this thing to stay running at idle no matter how I adjust what I’m guessing is the the idle adjustment screw (under the seat in the small access hole). I’m thinking of taking it in to a local Honda powersports mechanic but figured I’d ask the Honda forum if anyone has any suggestions before I do. If it needs a valve adjustment or anything like that I probably won’t be able to do that without some sort of walkthrough/video guidance as I’ve only ever rebuilt carbs on the older 2 stroke style scoots. Thanks in advance for any info!

welcome to the forum. you guessed what i was going to suggest, adjust the valves. might be just easier to have the mech do the adjust, you can ask to watch to learn how to do it,.
