Default Hello from New England

Hello everyone! Audiophile turned to headphones and (of course) Honda enthusiast here. First Honda was a 2007 Accord SE V6 I bought with 4 miles on it. Just a great car that I ended up giving to my son who totaled it. Next up is my present daily driver a 2014 Accord Sport with a custom leather interior with heated seats. I was told at the dealership that you couldn't get an Accord with heated leather that year unless you were in Canada. Either way it's a great car, I bought it with 30K on it and I just turned 60K. I was on my way to work at the end of 2018, going straight through an intersection with a bright green light when a huge *** Jeep ran the light and crashed into my drivers side rear quarter. Thankfully it wasn't my drivers door or I might not be typing this. I spun 180 degrees plus in the intersection and ended up facing pretty much back home! A little over $9000 in damages later I got my car back. The shop that fixed my car is an awesome place that does BMW's and Mercedes and I know the owner so I know at least it was fixed right. Killed resale value though so I'm stuck with it, not a bad ride though so I'm good with it. Which brings me to my question. I'm knocking on 54 with a good job so I'd like to do something to my Accord to give it a little more... juice? Not sure of the right terminology. I program in manufacturing and the engineers all say go buy a new Accord with a 2.0 liter turbo but 1~ my car isn't worth a lot to sell or trade and 2~ I really like the car.
I'd like to do exhaust but am not into any type of droning loud exhaust, like I said I'm getting up there in age and don't want people looking at me like well you know. I heard light weight pulleys help and perhaps a cold air intake? I also heard the cold air intakes only make you think it's faster and might throw a check engine light.
I've seen the Hondata site and the ECU can be flashed but I know nothing about this except it's 300 bucks and that's just for the file.
So if anyone could give me some honest advise I would appreciate it. Maybe you guys think the engineers are right and there really isn't much I could do to it and I should just go get a 2018 or 2019 2.0 turbo.
Thanks in advance for any reasonable opinions!

welcome to the forum. you can get cold air intake hooked up properly to not give off any engine light. only better breathing. exhaust headers and exhaust pipe 2 in is good with a quiet muffler. to get more power you will need a cam. your engineers are thinking why spend money on an older car when you can get the horsepower you need with the 2.0 turbo should be about 250 hp. stock. less head ache with no mods.
