Default 19 ELITE Odyssey randomly Shifts into Park while driving (video included)

Hi,

I have a 19' elite odyssey that has been plagued with problems...The major issue with this car is when we are driving at freeway speed (65 MPH) the car shifts into park automatically. I took it to my local dealer the first time it happened and they were unable to duplicate the issue (of course) and gave us back our car. This issue has occurred 4 times. On the 4th time, my wife was able to record.

2nd issue: I get a crash mitigation error atleast 3 times per week, it shows up for 2 seconds in the instrumental panel and disappears before I can get my phone out and safely take a picture of it.

3rd issue: the infotainment system freezes and stays on unless we unplug the battery (2 occurrences)

My van is about 5 months old and has roughly 7k miles.

Anyone else experience these issues?

Youtube link to the car in park at 62 MPH. (i apologize for the cheesy commentary, I was in the car with my family and my first priority was to get them to a safe spot).

welcome to the fourm. since your Honda is a 19, not anything we can do except the dealership service dept. only suggestion I have is to document every time something happens, take pictures when possible and safe. keep turning in the ody to fix with the same complaints, if you can have the shop have the ody for a few days to do the their own driving to find the list of problems, better.

Just to make sense of it, obviously the transmission cannot be in 'Park' with the vehicle still going down the road and the shifter in 'D'. Instrumentation may show it to be in 'P' but that and the other glitches are probably a body-control module issue.

The electronics seems to have gone wonky
And since it seems to affect more than one system, it probably is a computer type problem

Would document all occurrences.
Complain to dealer
Complain to Honda
Complain to the government to see if this is a big issue/common or not
Can you say lemon law???
Can you say class action lawsuit???
Get the dealer to fix it or replace it

Sorry for my post.
I really hate it when one spends so much money on a new vehicle and this stuff happens.
