Default 2002 Honda Odyssey Neutral safety switch -can't get it unplugged

The Neutral safety switch is easily accessible on a 2002 Honda Odyssey. Once you remove the left front wheel, the switch is easy to view and unbolt.
The hard part is disconnecting the plug at the end of the wiring harness. The plug goes into a connector on top of the transmission.

There is a large cable above the Neutral safety switch connector that can be moved slightly to get a little more room. But the connection is still hard to reach and not much room for two hands.
If you remove the battery, there is a little space for your right arm to reach the connector and with your left arm you can push down on the tab.
But you the cable isn't budging. (Probably hasn't been removed since the car was built.)
Any tips to unplug the cable?

I don't see any cable except a cable of wires You can't unplug that? I can't see why not.

The male part of the neutral safety switch will not come unplugged, I even broke off the locking tab, just to make sure nothing was holding the two pieces from coming apart. There are some plastic pins as will as metal pins inside the connector. Perhaps the connector got hot and one or more of the plastic pins melted?
In any case, I've put a screwdriver between the two pieces to try and separate them slightly and still no go.

Pop it off and then disconnect.

Transmission Range Switch Test
1. Remove the transmission range switch connector (A) from the connector bracket (B), then disconnect the connector.

2. Check for continuity between the terminals in each switch position according to the table.

That's the problem. It will not "pop off" or disconnect

That connector is attached to a plastic holder that has a nipple that goes through a hole. You need to pry it off.

I know how it disconnects - there is a male and a female part that joins. The neutral safety switch cable has the male plug.
Your diagram shows this.
The male plug seems pretty stuck.
There is a similar type plug near the battery box. I got that connector apart as a practice run without much difficulty.

Any ideas on how to disconnect a stuck connector?
