I am trying to update the navigation maps in my 2011 Honda Odyssey Touring Elite with the 2023 map database from navigation.com but when the disc 1 is inserted into the CD slot per the instructions the audio display just shows disc read and nothing else happens and the 2nd disc does the same. When I press INFO and then >OTHER as instructed by their help tech, the 4th item, "map data update status", is greyed out and can't be selected. The tech guy had no solution and sent a second set of discs which do the same thing. Now his only suggestion is to take it to a Honda Dealer.

Has anyone else been able to update the navigation maps in a 2011 Odyssey to the 2023 data base version or have any suggestions on how to get it done?

 

Might need to upgrade the unit.

 

Thanks for the reply. What unit do you mean. The CD player? It works fine to play and record CDs to the hard drive. I am not aware of any way to “upgrade” the CD unit. Or do you think I need a newer Odyssey ? (Kidding, of course).

 

New NAV unit or upgrade yours.

 

I've never heard of an update to the Nav unit. Any TSBs on this? Hondanavi says they sent the correct discs for my current map database. I asked if there was an older map update version I could try and they said it was 2023 or nothing. I gave up after the third set of discs did not work and asked for an refund.

Today I received a refund on my credit card of $86.11 which is $26.11 short of the $112.22 I paid for the map update discs that would not work, so I am out of pocket for money spent plus the hours of time I spent trying to install this map update scam from Honda.

Has anyone with a 2011 Ody been able to update their map database?
