Hi Guys,
I'm replacing a rear shock absorber on our 2004 Odyssey. The lower bolt on the passenger rear shock needed to be replaced, so I applied heat and hammered the thing out. Now I have the new one and I just can't hammer the new one back in all the way. I've tried heating the area with a torch for about 10 min. and it budged about 1/4" but that's all. Am I doing this right? I can't think of another way. If anyone has some advice I'd appreciate it. Perhaps I need to keep the heat on the thing longer?

 

Well I figured it out. Like often times the solution is easier than a person might think. I added about a dozen washers under the nut and cranked it down... this sucked up the stud to seat how it should be. Then I could finally install the shock.
