New member with 2 general questions about Honda Odysseys, please...
Hello! I'm new to this forum and I'm thinking of replacing my 98 Toyota Sienna with an older Honda Odyssey because it's insanely difficult and time consuming to change the 3 spark plugs that are on the backside of the Sienna engine.
I have two questions, please...
1) I read that a few of the early years of the Honda Odysseys had a lot of transmission problems. Can anyone tell me what those years are so I can avoid them, please?
2) For the good years of Odysseys (the years with NO tranny issues), is it easy for non-mechanics to replace ALL of the spark plugs?
Thank you! :-)

welcome to the forum 1999-2004 ody has trans problems. 01-03 worst years of problems. spark plugs i have never changed but it costs in labor 130-258.00 to change, so the shop takes 1.3 hrs to 2.5 hrs depending on labor rates. this tells me some are not so easy to change. the difficult part of the 6 cyl is the rear bank is a change by feel and need to be med mechanical to know what you are doing. you can use a mirror to look at what is going on but still not easy as the front. sorry i've only changed plugs on a chey 6 and had to remove the front eng mount and rock the eng fwd. also on the town and country back all by feel and half way in the engine. im short.
