Default When to rotate tires/Alignment

I took my 2011 Odyssey in for service. I asked for an oil change and tire rotation. I also had them check out a clicking noise when you turn at slower speeds.

The tech said I didn't need a rotation because the front tires had more tread than the rear. How is that possible? Wouldn't you want to rotate them anyways? And why would you suggest alignment if the tires aren't wearing unevenly?

welcome to the forum. Tires are generally rotated each 5k miles. Alighnment is done 1x a year. ( Honda does not do an alighnment out of the factory.) Also new theory on tires is the newer tires with more thread should be put in the back and the older worn tire should be placed on the front. This is due to the front has steering control and the rear has no steering on a blow out/bald tire. Per most tire shops.

you mean the worn tires should go in the back and the good tires in the front.

so your saying that worn tires are safer in the front because there less likely to blow out that makes absolutely no sense. first worn tires equal no tred so no grip especially in the rain. worn tredless tires are more susceptible to blow outs so putting worn tires in the front on a front wheel drive car is plain dumb.

They have 20,000 miles on them. They are in pretty good shape over all.
