Default Would you repair or buy new?

Hi,
I have taken my 2003 Odyssey (130K) for a third opinion. Two have said it needs a Head Gasket and have quoted from $2000 upwards, depending on how much needs doing. The other is getting back to me today, but said if it is that it will be $3000 or so.
Paid $6000 for this vehicle a year ago.
Really hate putting that much in to an older car. Worried the transmission will go next!
But if I wanted to sell, could I sell as is, but what would I get?
Would you repair it?
Don't want another old car, if I don't repair, would want to buy new, a Pilot CR-V perhaps, but worry about car payments. Always paid cash for cars.
Thanks!

Maybe cheaper to repair than try and replace it with someone else's problems.
