DC5 Integra SRS Light On Codes 07-2 & 12-3 Need Help Diagnosing
Hi all,
Im trying to get my Honda Integra DC5 (base luxury) roadworthy in Victoria and Im stuck on an SRS light issue.
Problem
· SRS light is constantly on (solid, no flashing)
· Car has no known accident history
Codes
· 07-2: Internal failure of SRS unit
· 12-3: Side airbag failure (passenger side)
From what I understand, 07-2 is likely secondary to 12-3, not necessarily a failed SRS module.
What Ive Done So Far
· Cleared codes → they come back immediately (light stays on as soon as car is on, no blinking/flashing)
· Checked and reseated yellow connector under passenger seat (side airbag)
· No visible damage or corrosion in connectors
· Tried using a resistor (~23Ω) in the passenger seat connector (vehicle side) → Code still remains
· Disconnected driver side airbag → new code appears as expected → suggests SRS unit is responding correctly
Current Understanding
Based on this, I believe:
· Seat airbag module is likely OK
· Issue is likely wiring between SRS unit and passenger seat (floor harness)
· Possibly an open circuit or high resistance somewhere in that loom
Where Im At Now
Ive removed the centre console and located what I believe is the SRS unit and connectors
Im trying to follow the service manual which says to:
Check resistance between Pin 7 (WHT/RED) and Pin 18 (WHT/GRN) on connector A (18P)
However, the connectors Im seeing dont match the diagram in the manual, so Im not confident Im probing the correct pins.
What I Need Help With
1. Has anyone had a 12-3 code on a DC5 and found the fault in the floor harness?
2. Can someone confirm the exact location of Connector A (18P) on the SRS unit or provide a photo of the correct plug/pinout?
3. Any common failure points in the wiring loom between seat and SRS unit?
4. Is there anything else I should check before assuming wiring issue?
Goal
Just trying to get the SRS light off for roadworthy, not looking to overcomplicate it.
Any help would be massively appreciated Im starting to hit the limits of my electrical knowledge.
Thanks!
