Knocking sound
I bought the Pilot EX-L in May of this year... and since then, I hear what sounds to be a knocking sound (usually when I start up my car and any time of the day).I'm not sure where it's coming from, but I know it's not from the engine. I brought it in the dealer to try to get it fixed..but they told me to duplicate the sound for them. This happens 2-3 times a week. It's frustrating because the dealer people made me feel like I was wasting their time because I was not able to duplicate the sound. Just curious if any other pilot owners have this same problem... Thanks
Aloha chris10: Welcome to the forum, and enjoy your stay, hope we can help you out.Suggestion before taking any car to a dealer, to help them fix your car, write down the time and conditon of when you hear the knocking, type of gas you use, and how often. As first start of the day, to end of the day, a log of when you start and when you turn off the engine, and how often the knocking comes on or off, also if you have a rpm guage, at what rpm. I had a car that had a problem, and after recording it for 5 days, the dealer found the problem in 2 hrs. It was in the shop for 3 weeks prior and 5 times and could not find the problem. Also check your oil level.
