Hi, I am just checking to see if anyone has put a 2004 engine in a 2007 Honda Pilot. I am seeing interchangabilty lists that say anything between a 2003 and 2008 will fit. But, I saw another forum where members said it was not reasonable because of the change from drive by cable to drive by wire in 2006. I can find 2004 Pilot engines for 1/4 the cost of a 2006-2008, so that would help! Any thoughts? Thanks!!

 

welcome to the forum. 07 pilot came out with a vetec, 04 did not have vetec. need to check to see if your state will allow you to put an older engine into a newer body. best to stick with same engine coming out as going in.
