I recently bought an 02 CRV, it came with only one key and no fob for locks. I am going to purchase another key and fob online, do I need the dealer to program it since i only have the one key? I have programmed fords myself with forscan, does Honda have anything similar?

Ill answer my own post, looks like the forscan tool will work with hobda as well, and i have one, yay, if um wrong i get no keys

Hi I know this an older thread but I have the same issue. How to do have the green key light on my dash. I bought a used keyless module from eBay and plugged it in. I also bought Amazon remotes. Tried the program sequence with no luck. Tried different timings with sequence and no luck.

Are the modules tied to VIN ?

Edit: I think my door lock cylinder (driver side) is bad. Causing issues. I will replace that first then try again
