Exclamation 2005 C-RV Engine Controll error light comes and goes

So, it started in our vacation ofc, driving as usual, and suddenly the yellow enginge control light lights up, and so does the VSA, the car almost dont respond to the gas pedal. This goes on until we stop the car, and "resets" it. The VSA light then disappears, but the enginge light control still lights. The car responds to the gas pedal as normal and is ok to drive. Then, the next day, all lights are gone. YAY! But no, suddenly it comes back on, and the same procedure has to be done. When we came back home we had checked at a garage, but since the lights was now gone, they could not say anything for sure. This light comes and goes, and it seems like the car is jumping a bit more when I just let go of the gas pedal. There is no special speed or driving method that seems to provoke the error. Anyone have any idea or similar experience to what this could be? =)

Why didn't the mechanic check the ECU history and pending for diagnostic trouble codes??
What did you do to reset the VSA? Turn off engine and restart vehicle?
Dis-connect battery??

Intermittent, .. could be electronics or wiring
Since we are talking about the VSA (or ABS) then
Special diagnostic tools are necessary to check the ABS or VSA systems.
However, there are a few things you can do before that.
Check the brake fluid level. Check the wiring and connectors to engine computer.
Check the wiring to ABS sensors at the wheels and make sure all connectors are secure.
If harness or any wires are frayed or broken then replace sensor.
Sensor is extremely sensitive and better to change the abs sensor.
Check all fuses. Check the ABS hydraulic fluid control unit's electrical connections.

Hopefully you will find it is just a frayed wire and simply replace the sensor.
Otherwise, it would be necessary to see a mechanic.

Why didn't the mechanic check the ECU history and pending for diagnostic trouble codes?? Have No idea, it was a quick check and probaly therefore they could not say anything for certain?
What did you do to reset the VSA? Turn off engine and restart vehicle? Yep, thats right, thats all and the VSA light would turn off and the car responded as it should.

Thank you for the advice, I will check all the connections and wiring. Crossing fingers for a "easy" fix =)
