Default 2017 CR-V heating problems

I live in Michigan. Before I buy a new CR-V, I need to know how bad the heating and defrost issues are. I have seen complaints in several sites, including carcomplaints.com.
Please advise.

Default Heating problems

I have a 2018 purchased in February with a December 2017 manufacturing date. Heat is fine with temperatures in the twenties. No single digits recently. Located in the Buffalo NY area. It is an EX-L.

Mine heats up but you must drive it . Mine looks like it will have the oil dilution problem though. That one is a major problem. My oil level is rising because gas is getting into the crankcase.

I wrote Honda 3 weeks ago asking them what the plan is and I mentioned the Chinese situation. Is this a major widespread issue or not? No response as of yet. I did see a law firm soliciting clients for a class action law suit. Short trips of under 10 miles or so in cold weather are going to cause a problem with the oil. Hope they do a recall by next fall.

They are being mum and not admitting anything. Every day, people are discovering that their oil level is getting higher or is overfilled. The issue is also happening on the new Civic. Go to Facebook and type 2017-2018 Honda CRV and join the group. Read about the car before you buy it.

Anyone know if 1.5 turbo has same problem in accord? If not, someone at Honda should know why.....and fix it. I am getting a little concerned about Honda quality, based upon my two recent Hondas (2007 Civic hybrid and 2014 Accord). Not as reliable as my Camry and Prius were.

Could automatic grill vents play a factor here? If it stays shut when started up and cold, engine might get hotter faster. Perhaps bad thermostats?

I would not buy any Honda with the 1.5 turbo engine. For sure, the 2016-2018 Civics and the 2017-2018 have this issue. Honda is nor acknowledging the problem. My 2018 CRV Ex had 2060 miles when I noticed that the oil level has been gradually increasing. Go to the internet and read about this major issue. The no heat is also a problem on some cars. I had heat.

These se cars are also going to plummet in value. Even the good ones. Thank God that I am leasing. Buy another car. Oh yes, read about how China has stopped the sale of the CRV and Civic in China.

Possibly good news. I noticed an article in a Chinese site today that the Chinese consumer protection agency approved a recall plan allowing for the resumption of sales of CRV's in China. Says that Honda will replace certain parts and update the software to cure the gasoline dilution problem. (1.5 engine) Hopefully US Honda will do this before winter sets in next November.. Also appears to apply to Civics with the same engine.
