2023 CRV Hybrid PCU Problem
Purchased a 2023 CRV Hybrid Sport in February 2023. Presently has about 2,000 miles on it but receive notification on panel that battery control was out and vehicle should be pulled over as soon as safely possible. Took it to dealer next morning and diagnostics indicated Power Control Unit (PCU) needed to be replaced. Dealer has placed order for part, but was informed that Honda placed the part on back-order, with no estimated delivery date.
Has anyone else experienced this issue? If so, how long is the wait for the replacement part? Do we need to be concerned about damage to other parts of electrical system (i.e., batteries) due to part's failure?
We have been loyal Honda owners for over 30 years and this is the first time we have encountered issues with newly purchased vehicle. However, this is our only car and replacement provided by dealer is a 2023 Accord that does not meet our family's needs. Concern is that replacement part will take months to arrive, due to supply issues and demand for hybrid vehicles.
