Burning plastic smell

Burning plastic smell
My 2017 CR-V (purchased 2/2017) has about 11,000 miles. Every time I stop the car after driving, there is a strong smell of burning plastic which you can smell both inside and outside the car. The dealer had the car for a day and couldn't find the problem. Honda NA was called in and has indicated it is because there is a plastic cover on the turbocharger. It was designed that way and there is nothing they can, or are willing to do. The rep from Honda NA told me they would not put out a notice to all potential buyers of this possibility because it was not suppose to be that way. YET, it was not a malfunction, so they wouldn't do anything and I just had to accept it. They also wouldn't affirm that the smell is not toxic. Seems to me, if plastic is burning it is giving off gases and that those gases may be toxic. Not a concern for Honda.
Has anyone experienced this or something similar? Has anyone found a way, or a person, that I might contact to get Honda to stand behind their products and resolve this issue? Is anyone familiar with a class action v. Honda for a somewhat related issue?
thanks
