Talking Jump starting with my CR-V

Someone called me up and asked if I had jumper cables and could I jumpstart his semi with my 2018 CR-V because his semi-truck's battery would near dead (shouldn't have let his kids play in it!). This did not sound like a good idea and I said I would get back to him. Called the local repair shop (not Honda) and asked it this was a smart thing to do. "Absolutely NOT", they said. This would fry the onboard computer right out of the car! Anyone else ever have such a request and has anyone ever suffered the consequences or was successful in this adventure. The semi's driver swore that where he works they jump start semis with passenger cars.

Personally, I would decline to do this because of the huge potential danger to my vehicle. But, sometimes I do have an extra 12 volt car battery around and would charge it up to full. Then, use it alone to give a jump start. 12 volt system only. Heard that some semi are 24 volt. In that case, No Way. As much as I would like to help others, I need to protect myself first.
