Unhappy Keep or sell?

I have a 2006 CRV 250miles, no accidents. In the last month, I replaced the radiator, tires, aircon fans, and thermostat. $2000,00 total in repairs. The engine is out and the alternator is soon next. Since these will be at least $4000 to $5000 I'm trying to decide to keep going or call it quits. What are your thoughts? thanks

welcome to the forum. when the value to fix is higher than the value of the car, time to purchase another. but if the value to fix is higher, and the purchase price of a newer model is high then it may be worth fixing the old one with what you have invested in it.

If you are even thinking about selling then there has to be something that is making this an option
There is no good advice. Cause the next vehicle could also have problems.
But, if the cost of repairs is close to buying a different vehicle then have to weigh options.
Recently went thru this twice. Old 2001 Elantra, rusted to hell but spent a fortune fixing.
Could not keep wasting money fixing. Got a 2007 Honda CRV and fixed that one. Running strong.
Much less rust (younger vehicle). Then a 2006 Suzuki Aerio with evap emissions issue.
Spent another fortune fixing that car. Rust got to that one also. Money pits. Got a second 2007 CRV.
Happy the vehicles have not had too much problems.

You have to ask yourself if you are willing to risk the inconvenience and future repair costs. Also, take this opportunity to check out the newer car you've been eyeing. Sometimes, letting go can save you all the trouble.
