Please Help 18 Honda Crv EX 1.5 AWD Pcm, Engine, Trans problems
Hi everybody new to The forum and looking for any and all information that others have had or are having and help with next steps rcrv has 110,000 MI it is misfiring pretty bad our drive everyday is 22 minutes to near City where we work and shop car is definitely down on power at times and drives extremely funny and misfire issue is certainly affecting other components we had the same issue when we first purchased the vehicle and our Honda dealer told us that misfires were not bad and that they couldn't continue anything until we had a check engine light and that's including the fix with the tsb's campaigns etc I was extremely well aware of the issues with the vehicle unfortunately after we had purchased it and it was too late and spend about a little over 6 months constantly at the dealer trying to diagnose the issue which was a waste and car wasn't even being worked on after unfortunately having to set up some things to make sure they were actually doing the work and we weren't just getting stiffed because of what was happening and what we are being told long story short we were told the misfires are not bad we need a check engine light and codes before they could continue fixing and at this time the 1.5 t the CVT and electrical problems were more known in the bigger cities and not so much up here and shortly afterwards is when everything skyrocketed we were sat on our merry way and drove the car with the misfires for about another month or two which ended up going away on their own that was not changing any parts the car was under the Honda factory warranty but having a diagnostic scan tool with Honda specific software does everything that Honda's HDs system can do and more including maintenance resets and relearns but no coding now because of the issues I purchased myself we have an extended warranty that we purchased but before I have to go to Honda I want to do and find out as much as I possibly can myself and save as much money so within a 22 minute drive between 4 cylinders I would say we'd get anywhere between 5 to 20 maybe more and I do have scans and live data saved from what I understand we should have had a check engine light or some sort of stored codes or pending codes in the two years with all of these issues we have never once had a check engine light no stored or pending codes ever even when the car has cut power and no not limp mode from what I've gathered we should have had all lights on the dash or check engine light or codes stored driving the car on the misfires as we were told per service manager we expected to get a light so we could have everything fixed we were told without a check engine light or codes they could not continue diagnosing now that the misfires came back with vengeance it is certainly affected other systems driving. I'm asking for any help in where I should start and how to test to make sure that our PCM is working correctly and will throw a diagnostic code or store one yes the bulb is working during the test when ignition only on and I did replace spark plugs coil packs any help is greatly appreciated and I apologize for not staying on topic and getting right to the point just trying to get out the story can give any other information that is needed for help just looking for advice on what to check or what to do to test the system and make sure it is working properly or if it's one of the other systems that's keeping it from working properly and giving us codes or codes and a check engine light. And anybody else in the United States experienced anything this crazy I've done extensive research there are some cases but not many at least that was 100% confirmed but I do believe that between other electrical issues and the PCM TCM Honda updates have retarded the sensors or computers more than they should or has made things not operate properly I am unsure if all updates have been done on our vehicle we did ask Honda about that they said it is up to date but also I believe I still have pictures at least I hope I do cuz I know I have some doing a VIN verification there were several things that needed to be done to our vehicle that was there during one appointment and when we went back for the next one it was never there so when we asked about it which was in our paperwork said it did not pertain to us supposedly so again any help with how to test my PCM to properly set or store codes and illuminate the check engine light and possibly what to do next or any other information for help please and thank you I have also heard many cases of PCM resetting itself and codes Everytime engine is shut off and is very hard to catch.
