95 Honda carb question
#2
welcome to the forum. This a quote from redrepair in Yahoo. "There are many ways to look at injection systems EFI,MPI,MFI. Electronic Fuel Injection is the type of system. Main systems are EFT or MFI (electrical or mechanical). MPI is a sub system description of the first. So you now have a choice of Single Port Injection or Multiport Injection. Most SPI are nothing more than a Carburetor body/or valve body that has been adapted to accept a single injector feeding all the cylinders. Multiport breaks down into two classifications - direct or indirect. In a Direct system the fuel is being supplied directly to the combustion chamber why Indirect it is being supplied to the intake manifold(s) or precombustion chamber (diesels), From there you can have single or multiple injectors feeding one combustion chamber. So in theory you can have a Electronic single multiport direct fuel injiction, Mechanical dual multiport indirect fuel injection, Electronic single port indirect fuel injection, or about a combnatiions depending on how many intake manifolds, how many injectors, and how many injectors per cylinders."
