hey whats up guys, i just bought a 96 honda civic EX. The motor is blown. But the head is still good. I got an offer for a 98 honda ek short block for 100$. But i talked to a friend and he said my head will fit but it will not pop vtec, so i have to buy a conversion kit. i just want the car for cruising "no racing" but i still want vtec for back up. Any suggestions on a motor swap?

ps: i want the car orignal as possible and but want a stong SOHC motor.

welcome to the forum. If you go to wikipedia.org, type in 96 accord, it will take you to the site with the generation car 94-97, engines used and type. you can use those type engines available to the years. (Yes You can use any year engine in any year car, but need to do mods of some kind. ) keep it simple.
