Default 2018 Accord Key Issue

Hello

I have a new Honda Accord, and recently had the radio replaced due to a problem with the navigation. Since I've had that replaced, I've noticed that whenever I leave the key in the car, and shut the door I no longer receive a warning alarm that my key is left in the vehicle. This caused me one time to be locked out of my car, thankfully I had the Honda App and was able to unlock the car, but I'm worried when I leave my phone and key in the car next time. I've tried to see if there is a setting on the system to address it, and not having any luck. I've re-read the manual, and there isn't anything I'm finding.

Any suggestions?

Thanks in advance.

welcome to the forum. best advice is your car is under warranty, allow honda to fix it first. should be no cost.

+1 for get them to fix it. Also, keep the key and your phone in your pockets. Never accidentally left in the car that way.

Yeah, I would think that Honda could fix it, but they were at a loss. They told me that the car never beeps at you for leaving your keys in the car, it is silent, it only beeps when you walk away with the autolock. Which isn't true, but I could not get it to replicate on a new car. I know for a fact that the car would sound an alert whenever you left the keys in the car after turning it off. I'm going to try it on a second set of keys, but for now apparently there is no alert for leaving your keys in your car.

I had a Maxima and an Impala before, and they both would give an annoying sound whenever you left your keys in the car. Why this doesn't work now is beyond me.

may want to visit another honda dealer that can fix the problem.. also i remember back that on the new honda if you left the key on the seat or in the car, and you left the seat, you could not lock the door until the key was out of the car. and yes as you stated, if the key was in the ign, and you shut the car down and did not take the key out of the ign, the car would give off an warning.

Yes I am taking it to another dealer. Now the alert doesn’t work even if the car is running and the key is left inside.
