Which battery powers the car electronic and electrical systems in hybrid cars?
Hi,
I have a 2018 Honda Clarity Plug-in hybrid and the car has a lot of warning lights come on from cruise control, lane assist, anti collision etc. I brought it up to a hybrid/EV shop and the mechanic says that the hybrid battery may have a bad cell or bad module that needs to be replaced.
Before I spend a lot of money on repairing something that may not be the reason of the problem, I have a question whether the electronics are powered by the hybrid battery or by the auxiliary battery? I would think that the hybrid battery only powers the motor. The car runs fine and the EV mode drive is normal. The error warnings cannot be reset.
And the auxiliary 12V battery is only 1 year old and its voltage is measured at 12.7V.
Thanks.
