Default I really need help, bad. please.

I started hearing a knocking noise from under my car when I accelerate, gears feel a LITTLE sticky but hard to tell if it's the tranny, people tell me it could be spark knock but I can't tell; it happens usually when I first start driving it. some days it doesn't do it at all. And it shakesquite a bit. It's a b18 type r jdm, compression 11.1 and a it has 50,000 -60,000 miles on it and has been running 91 octane far at least 4 years. ANY INPUT WOULD BE MUCH APPRECIATED, thank you.

Welcome to the forum JJJeff: enjoy your stay. When was the last tune up, was there any type of maintenance done recently? what year is the car? Does it make the knocking noise slow or fast, cold or hot weather ?

tune up? not sure, guessing like 3 yrs. about six months ago I put a brand new distrubutor on it because the old one failed, It's a 98, starts out slow and progressivly gets a little faster as I accelerate, usually starts at 2000rpm and stops around 3000rpm, usually when I first start to drive it when it hasn't been warmed up, once again I really appreciate any input I recieve, thank you.

possible valve adjustment, you might want to take it to get a diognostic center and put it on a computer for a full check out. If it were aconnecting rod, it would knock all the time mostly on power pull, and mild on cruise. If it is a come and go, it could be valve adjustment.

Yeah it's weird, never heard it past 3000rpm or soand never heard at full throttle or even 3/4, and the past three days I haven't heard it at all, and my car feels strong, but I'm still gonna take it easy for a while. Now the problem is finding somebody to take it to that knows what they're doing andthat I can trust with that motor...

Thanks for all the advice, and if there is any more advice I would greatly apprecite it, thanks.
