I have a 2015 Civic that until 2 weeks ago worked perfect. All of a sudden the key fob only unlocks the car, even if I'm pressing the lock button. A red light turns on and stays on for a few seconds then it disappears. The fob only locks the car like 50% of the time now. The door locks work perfectly fine manually, its just locking it with the fob thats giving me a problem. I replaced the battery on the fob but the problem started again after a day. It might just be a faulty fob but I'd like to know if there's anything else I should check before I shell out the $350 to replace the key with the dealer.

 

welcome to the forum. check to see if your other fob works normal, then you can see if its your fob or something with the car security system.

 

You can buy a new key fob and program it yourself.
