Default LS/VTEC TURBO

HEY GUYS,

Its my first time on a forum to ask for help but nobody around my area can give me a staright answer! I have an LS/Vtec Trubo setup and the car lean out at high boost for some reason. At first it started that the car was over heating due to the head gasket going. when I remove the head and check the cylinder walls they have tiny scratches around them now I lubed my finger and tried feeling to see if the scratches were bad enough to catch my finger nail and one did not much but you can really feel it! How F***ed am ? I really don't have the funds to start over right now would it be possible to place the head back on? I appreciate anyones response.

Thanks
Joel

how many mile do you have on the engine. Also are the scratches verticle as the piston direction or circular. Also there is a ridge where the piston ring stops, this is normal. Last thing when you shut down the turbo engine, do you let it cool down. If your engine is not burning oil, and the head has been smoothed or shaved, replace the gasket and the head. Torque per manual. need to find out the cause of the lean burn at high output before doing too much power runs.

THANKS FOR REPLING:

THE TURBO IS COOLED DOWN BEFORE SHUTDOWN IT ALSO RUNS WATER COOLED, ALSO THE CAR IS NOT SMOKING AND THE MARK IS PROBABLY JUST AROUND WHERE THE PISTON STOPS. THE HEAD HAS BEEN REMOVED SENT TO MACHINING AND NEW GOLDEN EAGLE GASKET IS BEING USED THIS TIME INSTEAD OF COMETIC. IF THERE ARE ANY MORE INPUT LET ME KNOW OTHERWISE THANKS!
