squealing noise at low speeds? sounds like brakes but isn't!
My 2007 Honda Civic (manual) recently started making a sqealing noise, it sounds like metal on metal, when I am moving at very low speeds. It mostly happens when I am backing out of my garage while turning the wheel to the right, but it has also happened on other occasions. I am always going really slow, about 7 mph, and it happens while coasting or pressing the gas pedal. The brakes don't seem to have an effect, the car only stops making the noise if I speed up or stop completely.
Anybody know what this could be? It sounds like something is rubbing and needs to be greased, but I have no idea what.
Thanks!

could be trans bearings, front hub bearing or part of you steering system like the rack-n-pinion. If driven Hard say with heavy mods might be an input or out put shaft thats stressed and about to break, but let just hope not on this last one. Good Luck & God Bless
