We just bought a 1999 accord. Car looks good, has low miles (77K) and one owner as per Carfax. Don't know the identity of owner since car was bought from dealer. Of course I have the car VIN. There is a sticker on the timing belt cover with a bar code and some letters/numbers, and a sticker on the automatic transmission with a barcode and some letters/numbers. We have already bought the car, so too late to act if something turns out wrong, but just out of curiosity, is there some database I can look up to check if those letters/numbers are for the original engine and transmission?
