Default 2000 Accord LX -Got some questions

Alrighty, new here but trying to start off with what I need.

I have a 2000 Accord LX 2.3VTEC Manual Trans with about 160,xxx miles on it.

I am having a bit of a problem with my idle. It doesn't do it all the time, but when I am stopped the idle goes really low, almost to a stall, and will bounce between nothing and normal. It has only stalled once. Any idea what may be causing this? and is it a huge problem?

Another question. I believe I am, I guess the word would be, spitting, maybe, oil into my engine bay, at least that is what it looks like. I cleaned the cover, engine, and all around off all blackness a while ago and noticed that it had become black again, and it looks more wet then dry. A few friends said it could be a valve seal, gasket, or something or other, I cannot remember at this moment. But this is something I know needs to be fixed as I would like to NOT lose oil.

And last but not least. Is there anyone who can tell me specifically where the Vehicle speed sensor is located as that needs to be replaced.

Thank you!

welcome to the forum. Idle air control valve needs cleaning. for the vehicle speed sensor location, go to hondaautomotiveparts.com for parts, put in car info, it is listed under mt clutch release. item #7 Sensor Assy-speed. with the picture above.

you need to clean the area real good, then watch where it is coming from. if it is at the valve cover area just above the head, then the gasket should be changed. It may be very helpful if you got a honda service manual to help you save lots of $$$$$. check ebay to compare prices.

Yea,I would take it to a carwash, spray the motor down with an engine cleaner with the motor warm not hot then rinse till clean ,then the leak will be more visible.A gasket is simple to replace.
