Default 2000 oxygen sensor problem

Hello,
I'm new to this forum.
I am asking for my daughter in law. She has a 2000 Accord, SE. The check engine light has come on. She took it to the dealer and they said it has a bad chip (one of two) for the oxygen sensor. They gave her the part numbers for the chips. P1166 & P1167. They say you can't buy the chips separatethat they come with the sensor. I found out that there are two sensors. One before the Cat. Convertor and one after. I'm not sure which one is bad.
Can anyone tell which one it is with the chip part numbers? Also, is it easy to replaced these ourselves. I would think so. Is there any procedure you recommend. I'm trying to save them some money as the dealer is charging $300. total job. I found the sensors At Napa Auto Parts for $105. The dealer was charging $187.
Does this car have a code system for determining the cause when the engine light comes on?
Any help would be greatly appreciated.
thanks

Aloha Bill, welcome to the forum. There is a code when the engine light goes on, if you go to a local parts house that has the obd II reader, it will tell you what the code is. It is not too difficult to change. Be aware that if you purchase an after market ( not original ) I have read many repeats on "light on" after a month or two. You can check with majestic honda for the cost on parts, they are good on prices as a dealer.
