Default 2000 v6 valve adjustment issue

So my friend has a 2000 accord with the 3.0 the rear intake valves keep needing to be re adjusted after high rpm if he drives it like a grandma there's no problem but the first time he gives it any hell the valves start ticking and when we check the clearence the following morning the intake has to large of a gap around 26mm when it's supposed to be 22mm we've set it to 20 still the same issue the tapet nuts are still tight but the gap is too large any advice would be appreciated

welcome to the forum. only thoughts come to mind would be cam ware or rocker failure if the adjustment stud/nut remain tight. or rocker arm at cam lobe worn/grinding.
