Valve adjustment - 2007 CRV
Honda CRV E-LX with 82,000 miles
I got a valve adjustment one year ago after I heard ticking under the hood. That resolved the issue.
The ticking is now back, one year and 3,000 miles later (I don’t drive it much).
My understanding is that you need a valve adjustment just once (if that) after 60,000 miles.
Does anyone have any any idea why I would need another valve adjustment so soon after the last one ?
Any information or tips are welcome.

welcome to the forum. did honda dealership do the valve adjustment? if so take it back and ask them why it is ticking in 3k miles.. if not dealership, call and ask why ticking again. i had my Fit valve adjusted at 230k est. and now have 285+k and 6 years later no ticking. the neg side would be the valve is worn out bad, i doubt that the valve is worn just a loose nut backed off a bit. check to see if the last shop noted what cylinder valve was loose and can recheck if same valves.

By my recollection, a valve adjustment should be checked about every 15k miles. The first generation CR-Vs did have some valve issues, but the problem with the earlier engines shouldn't be a problem for you. Sometimes though, weird things happen, so I'd suggest having a mechanic look at it.
