Default 2004 accord automatic 300,000 plus miles

So, my Honda has been very good to me. Not many breakdowns at all but it's got over 300k miles on it. I was thinking about going ahead and getting another engine ready to swap in when the time comes. My question is is there a more powerful engine than the 3.0 vtec that I can swap into it?

welcome to the forum. yes and no. honda produces a 4 cyl turbo 2.0 with 306 hp, comes with a 6 sp manual. so you will need to change over to a manual shift and change up all the mountings for the 4 cyl. production car and engine. indy v-8 670 hp. turbo. HI7R v-8 made for the indy cars. expensive engine to get, will not fit in your accord. not legal to run in US.

Dang. Was hoping there was something cool I hadn't found yet to swap it. Guess I'll just get another 3.0 ready and leave it as it is. Boring.

you can do a few things to the v-6. change the cam, turbo kit, but with above the normal hp, you may have to go to a standard shift trans unless you can find a place to upgrade your transmission.

I thought about making it manual. May do that but don't want to put much in it if I can't find a reason. I'm sure I have some time before I need to do it so trying to plan and get an idea. Thanks for the ideas. Gonna look into the turbo and cams.

you have lots of time. i have seen accords well taken care of at 500k. burning a bit of oil but pass smog in ca. also more hp on a car is to have fun with all the people who think they have a strong fast car to blow their doors off and a bit of a hobby for you. we use to build sleepers, quiet but powerful and the look on the face who see's their car beat is funny. just don't race a cop. he may ticket you or try to impound your car for racing. honda's are the cops best ticket car. i've seen seniors with super fast civic's and tinted windows get pulled over driving normal just to give them a ticket, or to find something wrong. (lol)
