Default 2008 A/C compressor

I have an 2008 Accord LX-P with 134000 miles. I was driving home last night and suddenly AC started blowing hot air. I checked the refrigerant and it is there although the pressure is about 100 which is weird as I did not add any. I don't know much about A/C system so I made an appt with my mechanic for tomorrow. My question is: If I need a new compressor (I don't hear it engaging) then do I need to buy an original Honda one? I had problems with the computer throwing all sorts of false codes with a third party starter in the past which went away when I installed the original one. Will I have similar problems with a starter if I have eg. a Denso starter put in, or is it safe to go with a third party compressor, which is about 25% of the price. IF so, which one do you guys recommend?
Thank you in advance.

You are likely low. That's static pressure. We need to see what the problem is before ordering parts.

I am not ordering anything and yes, I will wait for diagnosis. Question is:IF it is the compressor, then do I need a Honda genuine one to avoid any compatibility issues that I had before with the starter.

OK, so it is a compressor. Mechanic says any one will do without these kinds of problems. He says DENSO or GLOBAL are bet. WHat do you think, gus? Is it safe to put a generic compresor without triggering problems that I mentioned before.
Thank you on advance.

Why have you condemned the compressor?

65% safe to put an aftermarket compressor on. I did on my 2007 CRV about 4 years ago. Still going strong.
