2009 Accord DTC P3497
Hello , I have a 2009 Honda Accord v6 with about 122k miles . I have a check engine light on , code reads P3497 . The oil is full and the only thing I have done recently is change the 2 gaskets on the Vtec Spool due a small amount of leakage. Any thoughts ??
Hello , thanks for the reply . I have reset the code and changed the VVT Variable Valve Timing Pressure Switch 37240-R70-A04 . I will be driving the car about 50 miles to and from work tomorrow and will see if the light comes back on. I have not checked the pressure but did check the oil level and it is correct. Would I connect an oil pressure guage at the same location as the switch or is it in another location?
Hello, After running the car for about 50 miles the code returned . I did not mention that I had changed the gasket in the VTEC solenoid gasket and it was after that change that the code appeared . Might I have done something wrong when reinstalling the solenoid?
the installation of the vtec solenoid is simple 3 bolts torque 110 in lbs. recheck the 2 connections to be secured, but view to see if the male and female pins are not backed out, all pins in proper place, sometimes they may back out and have poor connection. then check to see if you have proper oil pressure. if all those are good it may be the solenoid.
