'93 Accord SE - Couple Questions
Lately, I've been going over this old girl taking care of things that failed. The vehicle speed sensor failed some months ago. I pulled the old one out to be sure what to order and the new part came today. I also have a new fuel filter to install. Doing these requires that the vacuum controller and distributor assembly be removed which leads to the first question.
I've been hearing a clicking noise at idle speed for some time. It is like a switch is cycling off and on without stop until there is acceleration. I was uncertain of the exact location of the sound; but now that I've taken the vacuum controller off the firewall, I'm convinced that the sound comes from it. Can anyone tell me about the vacuum controller's functions and what switch (or whatever) inside it might be the culprit? There are electronic parts inside the controller and I don't know their functions or how to test them. Other than the fast clicking noise at idle, the car runs great.
I forgot to turn the radio off before going through a car wash. The antenna was broken by the washer rollers. I have the new antenna parts and have watched a couple of YouTube videos demonstrating how to install the new one. In preparation, while waiting for the parts, I removed the antenna motor/housing unit to see if any of the plastic cable was stuck in it. Before removing it, I could hear the motor run when the car was cranked or shut off. Since my inspection removal, the antenna motor no longer runs. I've checked that all the connections are firmly seated and that the ground wire is attached to the chassis. I'm looking for suggestions for things to check to get the motor running again. Is there any way to test it off the vehicle?
Thanks in advance (TIA) for any help you can give.
