Default Camshaft galling

Hey All,

I have a 1994 Accord with the 2.2. One lob of the cam is all galled. I have read that this seems to be an issue.

Question is this; can I be sneaky and replace the cam while minimally taking things apart, mainly the timing belt side of things? Can I slip the belt off the cam gear and just pull the distributor and then the cam? Belt is fairly new.

welcome to the forum. looks like if you put the compression on #1 tdc, the belt can be slid off in place after relaxing the tensioner and distributor removed the cam should come out.
