Default Help!!!!

I have to go to work in the morning and it looks like I might not be able to.
I got familiar tubing of metal on metal today. Went to a store and got front replacement pads. I had to rush since I only had about an hour before sunset and I forgot to open the master cylinder cap. I took a drive around the block and the brake pedal goes all the way to the floor. There is some brake action but it is not normal by any measure. Looking at the web articles and YT I figured I messed up the master cylinder. I didn't see any fluid on the road under the car. Is it possible that it is something else that is easy to fix or am I going to a mechanic instead of work in the morning?
I would appreciate any input ASAP.
Thank you in advance.

You may need to bleed the brake calipers to get rid of the air
Getting rid of the air will then help.
Air is compressible
Fluid is not
That is the reason for the pedal going to the floor
