I have a 97 honda accord se with the engine HONDA ACCORD L4-2156cc 2.2L F/I Vin F22B2 16V SOHC ID#18585 okay and im looking to buy a 91 prelude im not sure wich engine it has its either the HONDA PRELUDE L4-1958cc 2.0L F/I Vin B20A5 16V DOHC ID#11972 or the
- HONDA PRELUDE L4-2056cc 2.1L F/I Vin B21A1 EFI DOHC ID#18284
my motor in my honda is great and so is the tranny the only problem with my car is that its totaled because of frame damage and i was curious to find out if my engine would fit in a 91 honda prelude!! please help! Otherwise i have to sell my car for parts..

Part the car out get the money and just go get the H22 and put that in the Prelude that H22 will **** all over that F22b2.
I have a 94 accord with a F22b and everyone trys to get me to put the H22 to in it. but i will come to that crossroad when i blow the motor. hope that helps some

As far as I know, yes, your motor will swap. I know that honda accords and preludes between 91-97 have pretty similar engine compartment size and setup. You will probably need to move around tranny mounts and get a different ecu/wiring harness, but the swap should be possible. I would hook up with someone thats done the swap before. You dont want to attempt one alone unless you have the equipment and a knowledgeable helper. Good luck! The H22 is a great motor though. Definitely check into that if its an option for you. Its probably the MOST common swap for accords and most desired motor in the preludes.

you are not going to want the earlier prelude motors. those motors require a different way of mounting. they have what some call a "gangster lean" because of the pitch of the engine. the h22 is a great motor to swap in.
