Radio code ?
When you take out a car radio out of a car, how do you power the radio?
You hook up a power supply to it.
What are the three types of power supplies?
Linear, switching, and battery based.
The car radio is battery based with a little filtering.
You do not know everything but enough to be dangerous.

All A/V devises have their own internal power supply.
As an electronic engineer I take it personal when I have you tell me I have it wrong when a first year electronics student will know you are blowing smoke. What really upsets me is this is so basic for ANYONE who has worked with this stuff. Where are our technicians on here and why are you silent? This guys teaching is leading people down the wrong path.
Did you ever build a computer or need a power supply for your tower? Why would a computer need a power supply if the outlet it plugs into is alive? When you plug any electronic devise into a power source that source is input into the devices internal power supply. They ALL without exception have their own internal power supply to power the different modules of the devise. You do not understand the basics of electronics. You do not understand the difference between a devices power source and it's own internal power supply. I'm not dangerous because I speak that which is true. You speak to be heard with words you do not understand and that is what is really dangerous. This guys radio is a modular devise and it's power supply module needs to be replaced. The $400 is a guesstimate based on experience with these. It could and likely would be less than that. If you can find a place that can fix it.
Stick with what you know.

A home device uses DC but it must first convert the AC coming into the home to DC.
The part of the circuit that does this is called a power supply to the rest of the circuits of the device.
It does not supply power. It takes incoming power and converts it to the type that the rest of the circuit needs to operate.
The internal power supply is only a circuit which regulates the power coming in. For battery based power, there is only a modest filtering circuit.

And, I do not say it does or does not need to fix that filtering circuit or power supply as you wish to call it. I have not seen the unit nor have I the schematic.
On the other hand, you say from your previous experience that it can only be this one thing without even looking at the unit or asking further questions.
That is like saying there is only one cause of an engine no start.
For $400 dollars, I can get a unit with a radio, navigation, Apple car play, and reverse camera .. new.
"If you can find a place that can fix it". Yeah, not many places can do that because it is so much cheaper and easier to buy a new unit.
That is why I stopped working on AV and worked in the **************** building YIGs for the ****. (basically a VCO for microwave operations)
Many of those repair shops closed. Now only a few shops are open and they mostly do warranty work.

Oh, first a CET for 50 years and now you're an engineer??
As I said before, a car radio is a DC operated device and DC is being supplied by the battery.

You can call it what you want to. But, an internal power supply would supply power to the device. Try turning on a car radio outside of the car and you must put a power supply on.
The internal power supply is only a circuit which regulates the power coming in. For battery based power, there is only a modest filtering circuit.
You are dangerous because you are rude and disrespectful with just enough knowledge that has you stuck ridge to your own understanding of circuits.

Funny thing is all this time I ask for if someone knows where the Radio Code is as I showed some pictures of the area where it should have been but didn't show anything there picture wise. Then I get a long story of what he/she "diagnosed" my problem with its a Power Source problem. I guess he/she missed that it does turn on and display the station its on and the time. Free advice is a Dime ah dozen and when I find a shop that works on these Honda radios I'll get a real Diagnose of the problem and pay them more than a Dime.

I did not go into a long story. I told you it was the Power Supply of the radio and It still is.
You see how his using terminology wrongly has confused you.
You guys are unbelievable.
Good luck.
You'll need it.
That was not me I never said it was a Power Source problem. That foolishness was brought up by our resident genius.

You just like to Stock People " that's called Trolling" pretty soon these Administrators are going to get tired of your BS and hopefully bring the old size 12 boot out and swing it your way permanently.
Looks like you resorted to the name calling. I'm not at all surprised. Took me a minute to understand your statement of "So far it seams like your just boosting your own numbers count". You must be very vain. I'm going to take a stab at your age. You are under 30 years old. Men do not need to resort to name calling.
