transmission cover plate necessary?
Hello and thanks for any reply. I recently did a bunch of work on my car and changed the oil pan. I had a hell of a time getting the transmission cover plate back on and after doing lots of work on exhaust/radiator/fans etc I heard a horrible clicking noise when starting back up. Thank god I located the problem from a video online where my transmission plate was hitting the transmission. I'm obviously an amateur mechanic at best and spent about 30 minutes trying to get that plate on correctly in the first place, before I had the oil pan (with silicone) in the way. My question is can I drive without this thing, what are the possible risks, and if not advisable how the heck do you put that thing on their efficiently without mangling it as I obviously did the first time? Thanks so much again!

welcome to the forum. Honda cars sit close to the ground, the plate is to keep rocks and junk out, but this does not happen often. i have not taken mine off at any time, so i can only suggest refering to a shop service repair manual for proper installation of the plate. I've done chev plates and easy install.
