SOLUTION: OK..... Love it!... <$80, 5 mins, 2 phillips screws standing up, back on the road! New NAPA MAF and loving these kinds of simple, miraculously easy deals. Found the car clearly doesn't like to accelerate or race laps with MAF unplugged, but driving short (back street) distances, at least on this vehicle, works with dealer conditional green light. I wouldn't go on the highways, but was able to get to\back the part store and now back to biz. Will check codes tomorrow. (and now I also know about immobilizers as well!). Hoping another bottle of cat cleaner will kill the CEL P0420 as well.
